Fear is a mile wide and an inch deep

Fear is a mile wide and an inch deep

Leila Hormozi

Faith and fear both demands you to believe in something you cannot see; what would you choose?

Fear feels massive when you’re standing still — wide, consuming, impossible to cross. But when you take one courageous step forward, you often discover it’s not as deep as it looked.

That’s because fear isn’t just emotional — it’s neurological. It starts as a story in your mind and then spreads through your body. Your heart races. Your breath shortens. Your muscles tighten. Yet the moment you breathe, move, or reframe that story… the illusion begins to shrink.

Fear is real — but the danger often isn’t.

Here’s the secret most people miss:

Fear doesn’t disappear when you’re brave. It transforms because you acted.

The goal isn’t to be fearless — it’s to learn to flow with fear.

So when that moment of hesitation shows up, remember:

You don’t need to wait until you’re ready.

You just need to start — 5, 4, 3, 2, 1… move.

Courage lives in the action

📝 Try This:

Grab a small card and write:

‘I give myself permission to _____(what you feel fearful of) — not perfect, but to show up for myself.’

Keep it with you. The next time fear rises, read it, take a deep breath, and remind yourself — fear is only a story until you walk through it.
